Cost effective resilient dedicated connectivity
Sometimes greater or more resilient connectivity may be required at a site than can be provided by ADSL, especially where services are critical or more bandwidth is required.
Ethernet is rapidly becoming the preferred choice for wide area data connectivity for businesses of all sizes. It is designed to provide customers with the ability to answer the growing demand for bandwidth - wherever in the UK it might be. It supports both point-to-point and point-to-multipoint configurations and enables customers to extend the reach of their networks.
Quickly installed Copper Ethernet
Also known as Ethernet in the First Mile (EFM), it uses low cost copper pairs, similar to those used with a telephone line, so it is quick to install and significantly cheaper than more expensive fibre. It is installed as up to 5 copper pairs (each one being 2Mb) offering resilience, such that in the event of one of the pairs becoming unserviceable, the others simply adjust their bandwidth according to remaining circuits.
EFM is a really cost effective service that can be quickly installed and offers, (subject to location which must be < 3Km from a local exchange) , up to 10Mbps bandwidth that can be provided as either 1:1 or 5:1 contention:
EFM connections can be provided for internet connectivity or connected as part of a PWAN solution to connect different sites together. Either way, it is today's cost effective solution for resilient dedicated circuit connectivity.
Circuits are connected from your site into Europacom's core network that is diversely connected into BT Wholesale's core Ethernet service. This provides you with a high level of resilience and cost effective connectivity over Europacom's core national network,
EFM offers:
High bandwidth dedicated Fibre connectivity
Where greater bandwidth or more resilient connectivity is required at a site or to connect a multi site business over PWAN infrastructure, Ethernet fibre connectivity form 2Mbps to 1Gbps is the most cost effective solution.
