Hosting and co-location

Historically, business organisations used to build and manage their own data server rooms themselves, generally at a main or regional office site. Regional sites would then interconnect into perhaps not just one but many of the sites creating a mesh of costly circuits that were inherently complex to manage through different suppliers and support systems.

However, the advent of managed storage facilities (data centres) and lower cost, high bandwidth connectivity had introduced us to the world of cloud computing where your application servers can be stored centrally in a fully managed 24 x 7 supported secure data centre

There is no need now to manage expensive equipment at each site because security and firewall protection can be controlled centrally within the management of the Europacom network.

The Europacom network provides for the flexibility of different types of connectivity (ADSL, dedicated circuits etc) within a private network and the capability to provide resilience by dynamically routing traffic around link failures, congestion and bottlenecks.

Costs are dramatically reduced making ROI times considerably shorter and networks can be closely monitored and managed to maximise performance under a single platform interface.

Alternative resilience options and a secure private network running business critical operations can be provided, with a fully managed service delivered under SLAs in order to run bandwidth-hungry applications.

In a customer hosted environment:

• Head office connectivity acts as a single point of failure for all sites that are accessing central systems.

• Multiple connectivity is required to sites for resilience - more circuits, more to manage and support

• The are significant costs associated with personnel, space, power, and service support

By centralising services:

• High Bandwidth is not required at a specific site to allow multiple sites to connect to it

• No two sites need to be connected together as they are connected as hubs off the Europacom core network

• There is no single point of network failure - a site may go down but other sites can still communicate with each other

• Services are managed 24 x 7 in a secure environment with full DR services with all space, power and support costs factored into a simple monthly rental plan

• Cost effective and resilient connectivity solutions with low cost of entry and running costs

• Traffic transfer can be prioritised depending differing data requirements (e.g. VoIP, browsing, file transfer etc)

• Cisco ASAs provide a fully managed security and firewall service mitigating requirement for expensive local equipment at each site. These can per purchased or rented in a multi tenanted environment on a per month per site service

• Service level agreements to ensure guarantees for business continuity
