Payment Cards

“As a large brewery with an equally large managed Public House estate, we have very specific voice and data telecoms requirements. Europacom quickly understood our existing and future business requirements and implemented an appropriate set of solutions. They managed a large broadband roll-out efficiently and now supply day-to-day operational services that enable our business processes to take place in a fraction of the time previously taken.”

Faster secure transactions...
Card payment terminals that are operating over PSTN or ISDN dial up services are extremely line-services inefficient. IP enabled card payment terminals not only transact in a fraction of the time of their dial-up counterparts, but there is the added advantage of multiple terminals being able to simultaneously use a single broadband connection. This often provides a line consolidation opportunity combined with superior customer experience for the cardholder.

The majority of existing payment terminals use a standard called APACS 29/30.  Normally using dial up, when a transaction is carried out, the card and transaction details, although checked for authorisation with the banks, are retained locally until backed up creating an inherent security issue (even if the terminal has the capability to encrypt data retained in them). APACS 29/30 terminals are gradually being replaced with new APACS 40 terminals, where the card and transaction data is directly transferred to the banks at the point of transaction, and not stored locally where it could be lost, damaged or stolen and the information held within it compromised.

Europacom’s Paynet provides both an APACS 40 solution for merchants and a hosted APACS 29/30 solution where data can be securely forwarded to our hosting environment to meet PCI-DSS compliance.

Europacom’s proprietary PayNet service has been built specifically for merchants to connect their WiFi, Bluetooth or Countertop payment terminals over IP to the banking community payment host – known as the Acquirer.

Our unique proposition provides enhanced security levels with an IP VPN, User and site identification verification and fixed Ip confirmation.

It’s network, or not work…
As we move more and more to a cashless society, retailers want fast secure payments that minimise queues and keep funds flowing freely maximising the number of transactions at key times. Companies running network-dependent operations know that when their network goes down, so do their profits. We can help.

We take our customers from this…
